Lannavaara

Lannavaara is located about 130 kilometers north/east of Kiruna. This is where we have the cottage and the Secondhand Stable. In the picture is Abborrsjön with our mountain Kuormakka in the background. We have a nice swimming area and a sauna raft. Our Finnish Spitz Tarro likes to go for a walk by the lake but not to swim!

We had a craft tour in Lannavaara in August. I exhibited my father-in-law Einar's sculptures as a small outdoor museum. It was a nice day where we could go between us craftsmen and visit. The local history center arranged coffee and homemade bread was available at ÀILU. I'll leave the advertisement image as it is such a good map of us craftsmen in Lannavaara.

Lannavaara Crafts Association

We have talented craftsmen in Lannavaara and Soppero who are gathered in the Lannavaara Crafts Association. Several also have their own shops here so I thought I would link their information to anyone who wants to visit us.

The Lannavaara Crystal

Jenny Söderström is our rock in the village! Through her company Kristallen Lannavaara, she has basic training in stone cutting and gemology, Gem-A, as well as a unique mineral museum that is next door to a nice shop with handmade jewelry in silver and stone. In addition, gold panning competitions are organized every summer in July. At Kristallen there is also accommodation for students and summer/short courses in stone cutting and silversmithing. Kristallen has a web shop and a collection "Jewelry with meaning" which is a nice initiative to contribute to a vibrant Swedish countryside and the profits go to charitable causes. My contribution is the necklace "Merry Berry" with stones that symbolize our nutritious and delicious berries cloudberries, blueberries and lingonberries. Älvans Interior Design and Farm Shop

Behind Jenny's shop/mineral collection museum is a cute little red cottage. There, Linda Tapper has a nice farm shop with everything from interior design, soft shawls and local crafts. Accommodation in Lannavaara

For accommodation in our village there is ÀILU - Artic Hotel Apartments . The accommodation is beautifully situated on a hill with privacy and silence.
